Why don't you see me talking much about Bahrain & Palestine?

Share

Recently I've been taking flak about my coverage of Bahrain and Palestine (well, lack of coverage, really). I thought I should explain.

There's risk, there's high risk, there's gambling, then there's suicide. For an Arab living in the Arab world to cover the Arab Spring is risky. For a stateless Palestinian refugee to do so is highly risky.

If you enjoy my coverage so far, kindly forgive this lacuna. If you'd love my coverage to continue with no unfortunate interruptions, kindly do not push this subject too much.

The Arab proverb says, "The intelligent understand by a mere hint." I've given more than a hint, and I'm blessed with readers with an above-average IQ.

No problem. Your self-discipline and prudence are admirable.

A legitimate reason. I really enjoy your coverage and I think, I understand a little bit more of the thinking and feelings of my Arabian neighbours.

An European (German in particular)

P.S. No German tanks for Saudi Arabia!
